Get ready for an explosion of glitter, glam, and middlebrow entertainment! On Saturday, September 24th, Tilted Torch returns to the Red Palace, bursting into a cavalcade of color! We are bringing burlesque, hooping, belly dance, comedy, and more by the finest DC-based performers for this fantastic variety show! Miss Joule will slice symmetry with her extraordinary burlesque and hoop dancing. Malibu will play games with geometry with her flashy LED and blacklight performances. Ebony will bend the space-time continuum with her fresh and funky belly dance moves. You will not believe your eyes when Pandora’s Box seemingly defies the laws of natural selection with her crazy comedic characters. Candy del Rio and DD Cupcakes will reflect your deepest, darkest desires with their sexy burlesque stylings. Ladies and Gentlemen!! I am pleased to announce that Tilted Torch will be participating in this year's Capital Fringe Festival!! We are bringing back our sold out show, Illuminopolis, for a fantastic 5-show run starting in two short weeks. Tix are already on sale and all the details are below. Come check it out! As darkness descends, the natural light fades and unusual lights start to glow. Lights appear in extraordinary places and in an abundance of color. These lights move, flow, and float through space.
Welcome to Illuminopolis.
During this radiant evening, we will explore light in many of its forms: visible (LED and incandescent); ultraviolet (blacklight); and the most primal form of light, fire. Illuminopolis is a light-themed variety show, showcasing performers from the DC area. From fire performance to burlesque to music to dance, the area's best talent with a penchant for reaching over the top in costuming and dramatization will gather to present a spectacle unlike any other. Utilizing glowing costuming and fiery props, the performers will whisk the audience away to a glimmering city where they can leave their worries behind.
